We couldn't have asked for a more fulfilling and inspiring day than our first Allett Lawn Academy held on May 10th at the Staffordshire County Showground. Led by one of the UK's leading lawn experts in Richard Salmon ( founder of Pro Lawncare UK and former chairman of the UK Lawncare Association) our event proved to be an invaluable experience for all attendees. As we look back on this remarkable day we are overwhelmed with the positive feedback we received.
Richard Salmon's presence was undoubtedly the highlight of the day. As an esteemed expert in the lawn care industry Richard's passion and expertise were evident throughout his workshops both in the classroom element and the practical element of the day. Attendees had the privilege of diving deep into topics such as grass identification, weed identification, scarification, and irrigation. Richard's extensive experience in teaching professional lawncare specialists shone through as he shared his insider tips and tricks for achieving a healthy beautiful lawn. The opportunity to engage with Richard and have their burning questions answered was an invaluable experience that left attendees feeling empowered and ready to tackle their own lawns with newfound knowledge.
Hands-on Experience with Allett Mowers and Cartridges
Beyond the theory sessions guests were treated to a hands-on experience with Allett's 'cutting-edge' mowers and cartridges. Austin Jarrett, the Managing Director of Allett showcased the remarkable Allett Stirling and its range of cartridges. Attendees had the opportunity to test out the options for scarifying, verticutting, brushing, and more, gaining practical insights into how these cartridges can enhance their lawn care routines. The interactive session allowed participants to witness firsthand the precision and effectiveness of Allett's equipment solidifying their confidence in the brand and its commitment to delivering top-notch products.
In the second practical from Austin guests were shown how to back lap a cylinder cartridge using simple everyday tools. This process is a temporary measure aimed at putting a sharp edge back on your cylinder mower. It cannot repair damage caused by stones and your cylinder would need to be taken to a local Allett dealer to be ground.
Richard showed guests a range of other lawncare tools such as spreaders, industrial aerators and thatch collectors as well as a look at different grass types sown in pots to get a closer look.
An Exclusive Tour of the Allett Factory
As the day drew to a close, attendees embarked on an unforgettable tour of the Allett factory in Hixon. This behind-the-scenes glimpse into the manufacturing process was truly awe-inspiring. Witnessing the dedication and craftsmanship that go into creating Allett's high-quality British machines left everyone with a deep appreciation for the brand's commitment to excellence. The tour showcased both the Homeowner and Professional ranges highlighting the attention to detail and innovation that sets Allett apart.
The success of Allett's Lawn Academy can be attributed to the collective passion and enthusiasm of all who attended. The event fostered a sense of community among lawn care enthusiasts who connected and shared their experiences throughout the day. The opportunity to learn from industry experts, engage in hands-on activities, and witness the manufacturing process firsthand created a unique and unforgettable experience.
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on the tremendous success of our first Allett Lawn Academy we are already eagerly planning for future events. The overwhelming positive feedback and the gratitude expressed by attendees reaffirm our commitment to providing exceptional opportunities for learning and growth within the lawn care industry. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements as we continue our journey of sharing knowledge and passion with fellow lawn lovers.
