Austin Supports Allett USA and Horizon at the STMA Show in Florida

What is the STMA show?

STMA (the Sports Turf Managers Association) is a non-profit, professional association for the men and women who manage outdoor sports fields worldwide and have been providing education and practical knowledge in the art and science of sports field management since 1981. Each year they run a conference (show) in America for professionals throughout the industry. This year's STMA Show (held from January 13th-16th) took place in West Palm Beach, Florida and we attended in support of Allett USA and our dealers Horizon Distributors.

At Allett, we are always striving to achieve the best quality of cut and the best eyecatching stripes! It's because of this that the team at Allett believe it is so important to attend events such as the STMA Annual Conference & Exhibition to network with individuals that share the same passion as us. Allett's Managing Director Austin Jarrett joined Horizon on the stand this year and met industry professionals from around America. Visitors to the show attended educational seminars, hands-on workshops and got to experience some of the latest technology on display (as well as ours!). We received a lot of exciting enquiries while we were there, from a variety of sports turf managers ranging from local parks to America's most well-known sporting areas. With creative and aesthetically pleasing stripes being almost part of the criteria of high-class groundskeeping for sports pitches and sports stadiums, the Allett cylinder mowers (or reel mowers as they're more frequently known in America) are a perfect match. Our Allett mowers are famous for their striping capabilities, as they are fitted with both front and rear rollers which aid striping and allow for a much more uniform and crisp lawn stripe. Cylinder mowers, by their very design, give a much closer cut to the lawn – from as low as 2.4mm, up to 44.5mm. As an added advantage, the C Range machine from the Allett Professional range comes with an interchangeable cutting cylinder, which can be easily replaced by a variety of lawnmower accessories in the form of easily changeable cartridges, for a variety of turf maintenance jobs such as removing thatch, aeration, and scarification. We have seen a dramatic increase in website hits from America in the past 12 months as grounds care professionals recognise the benefits a cylinder (reel) mower can offer, e.g. no wheel marks, a better quality of cut and the interchangeable cartridge system etc. Upon his return, Austin Jarrett (Allett Mowers MD) said: ''The STMA exhibition in West Palm Beach, Florida last week was a great opportunity to launch Allett’s latest battery-electric products to America’s Groundskeepers. We’ve seen amazing growth in the USA market as the customers now recognise the Allett brand and what our products do for sportsfields to give the highest levels of presentation and surface quality. I also had the opportunity to meet new customers from China and Qatar who had travelled to Florida to see the latest the industry has to offer.'' Toley McGettigan of Horizon Distributor said ''We had a great showing at this year’s STMA show. As usual, the Allett product was the major draw in the Horizon booth with turf professionals from around the world checking out the new C34E''.
